When you come and dive in Sodwana Bay you have an extremely good chance of seeing turtles!  But it's not only whilst scuba diving that you can encounter one of these amazing creatures.  

The iSimangaliso Wetland Park homes the oldest Turtle Research Station in the World and each year Leatherback and Loggerheads are monitored in our summer months during their nesting season.  Between October and April you can book a Turtle Tour with Ufudu Tours who operate a concession to be able to take tourists to see turtles both nesting an hatching on this pristine and protected coastline.

We have 5 species in Sodwana Bay;  Green Turtles, Hawksbills, Olive Ridley, Leatherbacks and Loggerheads.  We see turtles often when we are diving and Triton has assisted DEAT to capture turtles and tag them to monitor their movements.
