Hanging out with the whales on a double tank dive in Sodwana

On a beautiful day when the sea is flat and there is not a breath of wind we like to make the most of perfect conditions and spend the whole morning at sea, travelling to the farthest reefs to enjoy diving on 9, 8 , 7 or 6 mile.

Hanging out on the boat between dives is so much fun, often we catch glimpses of rays jumping, turtles, flying fish and game fish as well as enjoying the seabirds.  Today we swam with a huge pod of bottlenose dolphins and spotted a hammerhead on the surface.  As we cruise the flat seas flying fish are skimming the waters next to our boat.

We are blessed to witness the humpback whales migrating past our coastline each winter from June to October and today we had a young calf come right up to the dive boat to say hi and give us inquisitive looks until mom hurried him away.  The displays that these magnificent mammals give us are unreal as they breach and fin slap he water.  Take look at some amazing humpback facts here.

Sodwana Bay has so much to offer and on a days diving you can see so much from the dive boat.  Won't you join us for a double tank dive sometime?
